JEE Main 2026: Experts share final-week strategy for subject-wise revision, mock tests

## Final Week Preparation Strategy
For JEE Main 2026 final-week preparation, experts advise candidates to revise only subject-wise high-weightage topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Solving mock tests during this period can help students assess time management and identify error patterns, rather than focus on covering syllabus gaps.
According to the managing director and co-founder of Arihant Academy Anil Kapasi, candidates should focus on topics having a higher chance of being asked in the exam. JEE Main 2026 paper will include 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 5 numerical value questions (NVQs) in each section.
## Subject-wise Revision Tips
### Physics
- Revisit core concepts and formulas
- Focus on understanding rather than memorizing
- Keep revising commonly asked numerical and conceptual questions
- High weightage topics: Optics (13.26%), Electrostatics (10.74%), Properties of Solids and Liquids (9.05%)
### Chemistry
- Prioritize NCERT, especially inorganic and organic chemistry
- Short daily revisions can help retain reactions and trends
- Quick review of NCERT examples and summaries
- High weightage topics: Co-ordination Compounds (8.21%), Chemical Thermodynamics (6.95%), Basic concepts (7.79%)
### Mathematics
- Practice selected problems to maintain speed and accuracy
- Avoid very lengthy or unfamiliar questions now
- High weightage topics: Co-ordinate geometry (17.89%), Integral Calculus (10.74%), Limit & Continuity (8.84%)
## Negative Marking Strategy
According to experts, accuracy matters more than the number of attempts. Candidates should:
- Begin with questions they are sure about
- Avoid blind guesswork
- Leaving a question unattempted is safer than losing marks
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the JEE Main 2026 session 1 entrance exam from January 21 to 30.
